That belief is what inspired the Pawsitive Care Program, our give-back initiative designed to support animal shelters, humane societies, rescue organizations, and spay/neuter clinics across the United States.

Through this program, we donate recovery suits to organizations caring for pets after surgery or injury—helping them heal safely without the stress of traditional cones.

Today, the impact of this program continues to grow, helping veterinary teams, rescue workers, and pet caregivers give animals a better path to recovery.

 

What Is the Pawsitive Care Program?

The Pawsitive Care Program is Valley Pets’ donation initiative that provides BellyGuard recovery suits to nonprofit animal organizations across the country.

Many of the suits donated through this program come from returned products that can no longer be sold. Instead of discarding them, we give them a second life by placing them in the hands of organizations that need them most.

These recovery suits are donated primarily to: Humane societies, Animal shelters, Rescue organizations, Spay and neuter clinics, and Nonprofit veterinary programs.

For many of these organizations, budgets and resources are limited. By providing recovery garments at no cost, we help them care for more animals while improving comfort during the healing process.

 

Supporting Post-Surgery Recovery for Pets in Need

Animals in shelters and rescue environments often arrive after experiencing trauma, neglect, or injury. When these pets undergo surgery—whether for spay/neuter procedures, wound repair, or medical treatment—the recovery process can be particularly stressful.

Traditional Elizabethan collars (cones) can sometimes increase anxiety or make it difficult for pets to rest comfortably.

National Bernese Mountain Dog Rescue

Because BellyGuard offers a wide range of sizes, including options for larger dogs, the rescue has been able to use the suits for animals that might otherwise struggle with traditional cones. For many of their rescues, recovery suits are a far better solution than an e-collar, especially for dogs who may already be dealing with stress or trauma.
